Domestic violence is a major cause of reduced quality of life, distress and injury for relationships. Although this is usually thought of as violence against women, men are often victims also. First, we need to stop the assaults.
I can provide a path of healing for men or women suffering the effects of violence from recent or past events. People who are verbally, physically or sexually abused are left to deal with serious physical, psychological and emotional consequences. Abuse may lead to depression by fostering low self-esteem, a sense of helplessness, self-blame, and social isolation. Being assaulted by, or even witnessing assaults toward family members in childhood or adolescence, increases the likelihood of: mental health problems substance abuse involvement in abusive relationships
