Lifestyle changes
Has your lifestyle taken a sudden turn for the worse due to loss of a job, cuts in your pay, retirement, illness, or death of a loved one? Maybe the new diet you or a partner has been ordered to follow has completely changed family's meal planning, and you miss the freedom of the old ways.
Perhaps you used to own your own company, but now are having to work for others and are finding it difficult to no longer have the power you once had.
Maybe the addition of children to your family, or the addition of older or out-of-work relatives who now live with you, has changed your family dynamic, and the adjustment is difficult.
Sometime moving to a new location can bring lifestyle changes, because one partner cannot find work, or the cost of the new place means less disposal income for the things that enriched the joy in your life.
All of the above-mentioned possibilities fall into the category of Lifestyle Changes. These can cause adjustment disorders which can their toll on us and the people we live with. If left unattended, the stresses can cause depression, rage, and even break up marriages and long-term relationships.
Counseling during these times can help. You will find a listening ear, a place you can vent about the things you are missing. But as important, you will learn to adopt better coping skills to help you become more resilient during these trying times. You can learn how to find your balance, so that you can be your best self and keep those friend/family relationships intact when everything feels upside-down.
