Parenting Skills
Parenting may be the most difficult, but I can teach you the skills to help make it a lot easier. Parenting may be the most difficult job, and the most important responsibility, you will ever have in your life. In a society of conflicting messages concerning the correct way to parent, parents are sometimes at a complete loss for useful information and solutions to problems they’re facing. Many parenting problems stem from a lack of secure attachment between parent and child. This can be due to a number of factors, including emotional/physical instability and trauma in early childhood, inattentiveness or neglect of parents, excessive worry/anxiety over parenting, poor parental role models and education about childcare. The good new is that parents can make attachment repairs with their children. Also parents can learn attachment-focused parenting techniques.
I developed and taught a successful class at Scott & White Military Homefront Services to active-duty military parents that was based on these sound, evidenced based parenting techniques, and it would be my honor to assist your family in this area. Parents may come in feeling frustrated, frazzled, and confused about what to try next. We creates a map to empower parents who wish to learn the skills necessary to nurture their child or children. I have strategies for helping parents correct negative responses from their children and for managing children with special needs:
- ADHD
- Trauma from divorce
- Neurological, psychological and behavioral problems
Parent skills training is valuable for every parent because it can help you do the best job possible with the most important job you will ever have. Seeking help and learning parent skills will transform your relationship with your child.
